Q: What software are we talking about?
A: HP distributes Tru64 UNIX data connectivity software from
DataDirect Technologies.
This includes DataDirect Connect for ODBC and
DataDirect SequeLink (for ODBC and JDBC).
Q: How do I know which database drivers to use?
A. Both Connect and SequeLink are
Native Optimized
drivers and as such are fully compatible with the underlying
data connectivity specifications, such as ODBC and JDBC. Both
families are implemented completely in the native code of the
specific architecture (e.g., all Java, all C#, etc). Connect
and SequeLink differ primarily in terms of architecture,

Q: Do I have the software needed to develop client/server applications?
A: The DataDirect software does include the software needed
for the clients and for the server side of a distributed
application. Your client program can be running on Tru64 UNIX
or on Windows NT and can be used to access data and databases
on Tru64 UNIX systems.
Q: Does this software include the Windows 2000 or
Windows XP drivers I would need to connect my Microsoft clients
to the database on my Tru64 UNIX server?
A: Yes, both DataDirect Connect for ODBC and DataDirect SequeLink
drivers can connect Windows applications to databases on your
Tru64 UNIX server.
Q: What is the cost of this software?
A: The DataDirect Technologies software for Tru64 UNIX is
offered at no charge to Tru64 UNIX customers as part of the
operating system package. HP is committed to providing our

A: These products are included with the Tru64 UNIX
