This page provides you with links to two downloadable tar files, cleanPR and get_disk_info. These tar files contain scripts that you can use when upgrading to TruCluster Server Version 5.0. You can upgrade to TruCluster Server Version 5.0 from:

  • TruCluster Software Version 1.0 or TruCluster Production Server Software Version 1.4 or higher
  • DECsafe Available Server Version 1.3 or TruCluster Available Server Software Version 1.4

These scripts are designed to be used with the upgrade procedure provided in Chapter 7 of the TruCluster Server Version 5.0 Software Installation manual.

<get_disk_info.tar.Z>
   ./README
   ./get_disk_info

Download this file to the existing Version 1.x cluster or ASE.

Run the get_disk_info script to gather disk information on the existing Version 1.x cluster or ASE. Use the gathered information to help manually map Version 1.x device names to those used for the same devices on the Tru64 UNIX Version 5.0 system.

Use the get_disk_info script in conjunction with step 7h in Section 7.4 of the TruCluster Server Software Installation manual. The procedure in this section tells you to run a series of scu commands. The get_disk_info script automates the use of the scu utility to gather device information. Print or otherwise save the script's output.

After you install the Tru64 UNIX Version 5.0 operating system, use the output when checking devices and mapping device names from the Version 1.x rz* names to the Version 5.0 dsk* names (as discussed in steps 12f and 12g of the procedure).

<cleanPR.tar.Z>
   ./README
   ./bin
   ./bin/scu
   ./bin/scu.hlp
   ./bin/scu.ksh
   ./cleanPR

The cleanPR script finds and clears all persistent reservations from the attached HSG80 and HSZ80 devices. This script calls a modified version of the scu utility, compiled for DIGITAL UNIX Version 4.0D or later versions of the Tru64 UNIX operating system. Use the cleanPR script only in conjuction with step 14d in Section 7.4 of the TruCluster Server Software Installation manual, which discusses backing out of an upgrade.

To uncompress either file, enter the following commands:

uncompress filename.tar.Z
tar -xvpf filename.tar
