The ASU Version 5.1B-2 ECO1 kit provides enhancements and corrections for
problems found in the ASU Version 5.1B-2 software, including earlier
versions of the ASU software.
Some of the enhancements and corrections in the ASU Version 5.1B-2 ECO1 kit:
- The ASU command 'acladm' has two new options for deleting ACLs. They are useful for reducing the size of very large ACL databases.
- The ASU server now detects and reports certain unusual events and conditions.
- The ASU server now detects an erroneous byte-order mark (BOM) character in Unicode data, and replaces it with an underscore.
- An ASU member server can now use a BDC to authenticate connections if the NetLogon service is paused on the PDC.
- The UNIX 'passwd' command can now be used from root to change an ASU user's password if ASU SIA is configured.
- Files can now be accessed through a non-primary UNIX login group, or through a NIS "split group".
- The ASU server performance has been increased significantly when copying a tree of files from a non-master cluster member to a Windows XP client.
- The ASU server no longer crashes if
- A client sends an invalid transaction SMB for a share that was disconnected.
- A client attempts to authenticate a user name that is longer than 20 characters.
- IPC messages are received at the same time from the lmx.ctrl and lmx.cluster processes.

Install the ASU Version 5.1B-2 ECO1 software on a system running the Tru64
UNIX Version 4.0F or higher operating system software. The ASU Version
5.1B-2 ECO1 software can be used to
- Install the ASU software on a Tru64 UNIX system for the first time.
- Upgrade previous versions of the ASU software.
Note: You can no longer directly upgrade PATHWORKS for DIGITAL UNIX
(Advanced Server) to ASU. See the
ASU Version 5.1A ECO1 Release Notes for
information on how to upgrade PATHWORKS for DIGITAL UNIX (Advanced Server)
to ASU.
