DESCRIPTION
Systems using emx drivers prior to Version 2.11 will hang if the SAN configuration change notification messages are missed by the driver. This situation can occur when a SAN configuration change occurs and HP Tru64 UNIX attempts to process the fabric notification event. The problem within the emx driver may result in HP Tru64 UNIX missing the notification and causing the system to hang and log a long continuous stream of fabric sequence timeouts to binary.errlog.

If  the system is configured with the MSA1000 or XP Storage Controllers, there is an additional problem that is fixed with Version 2.12 of the emx driver. Customers running these configurations should upgrade to emx driver Version 2.12. If you are not running this configuration, then running emx driver Version 2.11 is sufficient.

SCOPE
This problem may occur on all V5.1A and V5.1B HP Tru64 UNIX systems running  running emx drivers prior to Version 2.12.
